How do I program: Call Forward No Answer?

To begin the programming session:

To change where a call goes when there is no answer:

Phone screen: Terminals & Sets Press: Phone button: Show
Phone screen: Show set Enter the internal number (intercom number) of the telephone extension. In this example, it is 25.  If a set has been given a name, it will appear on the display.
Phone screen: 25 Press: Phone button: Show
Phone screen: Capabilities Press: Phone button: Show
Phone screen: Forward Press: Phone button: Show
Phone screen: Forward to none Press CHANGE and enter the internal number where you want the calls to be sent. In this example, it's extension 21. 
Phone screen: Forward to 21 You can press CLR to change the destination back to NONE. 

 

To change the number of times the telephone will ring before it is forwarded:

Phone screen: Forward to 21 Press: Phone button: Next
Phone screen: Forward delay 4
Phone screen: Forward delay 3

Use the CHANGE button to choose the number of times the telephone will ring before it is forwarded.

Your choices are 2, 3, 4, 6 and 10 rings.

Press Phone button Release to end your session.

  You can also press Phone button: Heading and Phone button: Next to continue programming capabilities for this telephone, or press Phone button: Heading three times to return to the Terminals & Sets heading.

 

How do I program: Call Forward No Answer?

Changing Call Forward No Answer

(If you wish to forward to voicemail, follow Step One)

Step One: 
  • Press Phone button: Feature Phone button 9 Phone button 8 Phone button 5
  • Write down number that appears on the display - this is your voice-mail extension number
  • Press Rls button to exit
Step Two:
  • Click here to download the Norstar Programming Overlay. Print it out, cut out where instructed, then place over Lines 1 & 2 on your M7324, M7310 or T7316 set
  • With the handset down, press

  • Screen will display "Password"' - enter

  • Keep pressing Phone button: Next until screen displays: "Set abilities"
  • Press Phone button: Show once (screen displays "Show set")
  • Enter the extension number you wish to program
  • Keep pressing Phone button: Next until screen displays: "Forward no answer"
  • Press Phone button: Show once (screen displays "Forward to:")
  • Press CHANGE
  • Enter voice-mail extension # (refer to step one)
  • Press Phone button: Next once - screen displays "Forward delay:" (this is the number of rings before voice-mail picks up)
  • Keep pressing CHANGE until desired number of rings show
  • Press RIs button to end the session

To change where a call goes when telephone is busy:

Phone screen: Terminals & Sets Press: Phone button: Show
Phone screen: Show set

Enter the extension number of the telephone you wish to forward. In this example it is extension 25.

If a set has been given a name, it will appear on the display.

Phone screen: Capabilities Press: Phone button: Show
Phone screen: Forward Press: Phone button: Next
Phone screen: Forward on busy Press: Phone button: Show
Phone screen: Forward to none Press CHANGE and enter the extension number of the telephone you want calls to be sent to. In this example it is extension 21. 
Phone screen: Forward to 21 You can press CLR to change the destination back to NONE. 
Press Phone button Release to end your session.

Changing Forward on Busy

How do I program: Handsfree?

  • With the handset down, press Phone button: Feature Phone button: * Phone button: * Phone button: 2 Phone button: 6 Phone button: 6 Phone button: 3 Phone button: 4 Phone button: 4
  • Screen will display "Password". Enter in password Phone button: 2 Phone button: 3 Phone button: 6 Phone button: 4 Phone button: 6
  • Press Phone button: Show once (screen displays "Show Set")
  • Enter the extension number you wish to program
  • Press Phone button: Show twice (screen displays "Fwd no answer")
  • Keep pressing Phone button: Next until screen displays: "Auto handsfree"
  • Press CHANGE so the screen displays: "Auto handsfree: Y"
  • Press Phone button Release to end the session.

In this example, we will change the time to 1:30 p.m.
Phone screen: Hour 01 Change Press: CHANGE
Phone screen: Hour Cancel Press the dial pad buttons to enter the hour. Use two digits for all hours. The clock on the display will show either one or two digits.
Phone screen: AM change The display will prompt you to choose a.m. or p.m. Press CHANGE and OK to select p.m.
Phone screen: Hour 01 Change Press: Phone button: Next
Phone screen: Minutes Change Press: CHANGE
Phone screen: Minute Cancel

Press the dial pad buttons to enter the minutes.

If you are only changing the time and not the date, press Phone button Release to end your session.

In this example, we will change the date to July 15, 2000.
Phone screen: Minutes 30 Change Press: Phone button: Next
Phone screen: Year 99 change Press: CHANGE
Phone screen: Year Cancel Press the dial pad buttons to enter the year.
Phone screen: Year 2000 change Press: Phone button: Next
Phone screen: Month change Press: CHANGE
Phone screen: Month change Press the dial pad buttons to enter the month. Use numbers for the months: January is 01, December is 12.
Phone screen: Month July Press: Phone button: Next
Phone screen: Day change Press: CHANGE
Phone screen: Day change Press the dial pad buttons to enter the day.
Phone screen: Day 15 Press Phone button Release to end your session.
  • The clock also controls the schedules used for services such as ringing and routing.
  • After a power failure, the clock will be behind by the length of time power was lost. 
  • Your Norstar system can change automatically between North American daylight saving time and standard time. This option is set by your customer service representative or installer and can be changed by contacting them.

  • Press Rls button to end the session or Press CHANGE - to change the date (if necessary)

  • When you're ready, pickup handset and press REC
  • At the tone record your greeting
  • Press OK to end your recording
  • Press OK to accept your recording or:
    • press PLAY to hear what you've just recorded
    • press RETRY to re-record

To have your system play a new greeting e.g. a Holiday Greeting

  • Enter <system coordinator mailbox # and password>
  • Press OK

To delete a mailbox:

To change properties of an existing mailbox:

To reset a mailbox password:

  • Press RESET
  • Press Phone button: Next
  • Note: this resets the mailbox password to 0 0 0 0

To change a mailbox extension:

  • Press CHNG
  • Enter <new extension number>
  • Press Phone button: Next

To change a mailbox class of service:

  • Press CHNG
  • Enter <class of service from 1 to 8>
  • Press Phone button: Next

To change a mailbox owner's name:

  • Press CHNG
  • Enter <mailbox owner's new name> (last name, first initial - e.g. Doe, J)
  • Press OK
  • Press Phone button: Next

To put in or take out a mailbox from the company directory:

  • Press CHNG
    • If display shows, "Directory: N" - mailbox cannot be accessed by spelling the person's last name
    • If display shows, "Directory; Y" - mailbox can be accessed by spelling the persons' last name
  • Press Phone button: Next

To change the message waiting notification:

  •  Press CHNG
    • If display shows, "Msg waiting: Y" - "Message for you" will display on phone when messages are left in the mailbox
    • If display shows, "Msg waiting: N" - nothing will display on phone when messages are left in the mailbox
  • Press Phone button: Next

Deleting a button:

  • Phone button: Feature Phone button 1
  • Press Hold

Language Choices:

  • Phone button: Feature Phone button 5 0 Phone button 1 = English

Programming a Line Out:

Removing Auto Log:

  • Press Phone button: Next to Auto Log
  • Press OK
  • Change to No

Company Directory Name Change:

  • Log (System co-ordinator mailbox and password)
  • Mailbox
  • Enter ext #
  • Press Phone button: Next' until you get the name you want to change

  • Enter proper name (after every letter, press # to advance a space) (press # twice to get a comma)
